What is the RoxYunk PorchFest 2022?
RoxYunk Porchfest 2022 — a free day of local music hosted DIY-style on “porches” throughout Roxborough and Manayunk. Created by community residents, RoxYunk Porchfest will bring together neighbors and musicians of all kinds to build, deepen, and celebrate connections within our community and beyond. This event is for everyone and encourages a diversity of genres and people to share the joys of live music.
How does Porchfest Work?
Neighbors offer their porches, performers volunteer their talents. The RoxYunk Porchfest Committee may assist in pairing the two, but performances are really the purview and responsibility of the respective porch hosts. Performances will be held throughout the neighborhood between noon and 6 p.m., allowing guests to stroll from house to house while enjoying music and the RoxYunk community’s hospitality.
When is RoxYunk Porchfest 2022?
RoxYunk Porchfest 2022 is October 15, 2022, from noon to 6 p.m. It is anticipated that porch performances will be scheduled in 3 separate 2-hour increments. The first set of porches will host from noon until 2 p.m., the second set of porches will host from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., the third and last set of porches will host from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Where exactly is RoxYunk Porchfest 2022 taking place?
This is our first Porchfest, so we may try to keep the boundaries a bit tighter this year and consider pushing the boundaries more broadly in the future. We anticipate performances taking place between Main Street Manayunk, and Ridge Avenue (but not on Main St or Ridge Avenue, due to traffic, potential business interruption, etc.), and between Leverington Avenue and Shurs Lane.

Is there any cost to attend?
RoxYunk Porchfest is free for all.
Do the musicians get paid?
No one does. Ours is an experiment in generosity and good will — predicated solely on the act of giving — which applies equally to everyone involved. Organizers, performers, porch hosts, and others all participate as volunteers and all give freely of their time, talents, resources, and hospitality as a gift to the community and to each other.
Who should come?
Everyone! RoxYunk Porchfest is family-friendly and open to all, with all kinds of music to suit all kinds of tastes.
Will streets be closed for RoxYunk Porchfest 2022?
The RoxYunk Porchfest Committee will not be making application for any street closures. If individuals or groups wish to make applications for street closures on their own, they are welcome to do so.
Will there be a map and/or a schedule of the performances?
Online interactive and printed maps will be made available. Both maps will list performers, times and locations.
Parking and transportation?
There is no specified event parking. As parking can be a challenge in the Roxborough/Manayunk area, we would encourage attendees to consider using public transportation (SEPTA Manayunk and Wissahickon stations, 9/27/35/61 bus lines), use ride-share (Uber/Lift), or walk (try the amazing Cynwyd Heritage trail) or bike.
What about restroom facilities?
Restroom facilities are not specifically provided for. Area businesses have been made aware of the event and may be willing to permit the use of their facilities. Our advice is to “have a plan” and/or plan accordingly.
